Must-Haves Missing from a Healthy Medicine Cabinet

In our last article, “Do You Have a Healthy Pantry?,” We suggested a well-rounded, easy-to-implement plan for cleaning out and organizing a healthy food pantry. Now let’s talk about what basic supplements and herbs you need to have on hand for sustenance as well as emergencies… “The Must Haves For A Healthy Medicine Cabinet.”

Research proves that we are an overly medicated nation. Americans spend approximately $300 billion on prescription medications every year. In emergency situations, prescription drugs can save lives. But often times they are masking our symptoms, and prevent us from exploring the root causes of our health challenges.

We are not suggesting to get rid of your prescribed medications. That is a decision between you and your doctor. But we can replace many of the over-the-counter drug store products like cold and flu medication and pain relievers with more natural solutions.

As we sort through our medicine cabinet, we must be careful to dispose our medicines safely. Years ago, most people flushed old medications down the toilet to prevent accidental poisoning. But today, sewage plants can’t effectively clean all the medications from our water.

To dispose safely, solid pills can be crushed and mixed with sawdust or kitty litter, placed in a baggie and then thrown in the trash. Or perhaps you have a designated site in your area that disposes of any medication or over-the-counter pills safely.

Where do I start?

Every person interested in cellular healing should add the following products to their health-promoting arsenal.

Vitamin D3 with Vitamins A and K:

Vitamin D should be at the forefront of every cabinet across the country. Vitamin D is so vital to the body that We could write a 100-page treatise on its values. Suffice it to say, it is essential for a healthy immune system, active bone building and support, and countless other processes in the body.

Generally speaking, taking at least 2,000 IUs of Vitamin D per day will help to maintain healthy levels if you are not deficient. Your doctor can easily check your levels. If you find you are low in Vitamin D, then increasing the daily dose is essential to achieve a protective level of Vitamin D in your blood stream.

Please take into consideration that you need a Vitamin D supplement that also contains both Vitamin A and Vitamin K, as they work synergistically together. If either Vitamin D, A or K are deficient, it tends to throw off the balance of the others.

The Vitamin D supplement that We think works most efficiently is Systemic Formulas Vitamin DV3. It was formulated with all the nutrients needed for extra absorption. Many clients have reported that taking other Vitamin D supplements on the market had little to no positive affect in raising their levels until taking Systemic Formulas DV3 daily. Gt – Thymus:

As we are entering flu season, Gt – Thymus is a must. It is known as the immune system stabilizer. The ingredients in this formula strengthen and help to rebuild our thymus gland. This small but mighty gland produces T cells and lymphocytes that protect us from getting sick. As we age, our thymus gland takes a hit, so we need to do all we can to support its function. If taken every day, its ingredients help the body to resist colds and flus. So be proactive and start giving your family this product at the end of the summer and all the way through the flu season.

VIVI – Virox:

The VIVI formula is based on the American Blackfoot and Brazilian native Indian tribe traditions. This product’s unique ingredients are used as an anti-viral and anti-strep/staph product. Its active ingredient, the herb lomatium dissecutium, was given to doctors by a local Indian tribe to protect the locals in San Francisco during the 1918 flu epidemic that was claiming countless lives. It is said that he gave only 1 drop to 30,000 people and he didn’t lose one life.

Lomatium is known as the sacred black, wild carrot. University studies have shown that this herb was as effective as penicillin for 15-gram negative and gram-positive bacterium. Use short term (7 days) and do NOT use is pregnant or lactating.
