Glyphosate Found in Infant Feeding Tube: A Silent Killer: Glyphosate is not only making headlines in the alternative health community but increasingly in mainstream media too. And no wonder, this dangerous herbicide has infiltrated our food and water supply for long enough. The consequences are beginning to bubble up to the surface. In recent news, glyphosate has actually been found in feeding tubes being given to children at hospitals— the very place people come to heal, and our most vulnerable population. Glyphosate is sweeping the nation and this insidious toxin is so widespread that it’s really up to the consumer to get educated. We need to learn how to avoid it, and unfortunately detox (because this stuff is actually creeping up in certified organic foods as well).
Glyphosate: A Silent Killer
Glyphosate is a broad-spectrum systemic herbicide and crop desiccant. It is used by farmers to kill weeds and grasses that compete with the crops they are trying to harvest. This chemical was discovered by a Monsanto chemist in 1970 and brought to market in 1974. As of 2007 has been the top-selling Herbicide in the country. There are over 750 products containing glyphosate for sale in the United States.
An increasing number of crops are being engineered to tolerate glyphosate, meaning that farmers can spray their fields with large amounts of Roundup without killing their produce. Roundup’s glyphosate is also used as a drying agent during processing and cultivation of crops like wheat. This means that the final product has been drowned in this harmful chemical multiple times before it ever reaches the manufacturing process (let alone your plate).
Glyphosate is a non-selective herbicide, meaning it will kill most plants. As a chelator, it kills weeds(and other living things) by drawing out the vital nutrients of any living thing it comes in contact with. Glyphosate is also a patented antibiotic, meaning, one of its functions is to kill bacteria (with total disregard if the bacteria is ‘good’ or ‘bad’). Its nature is to kill, which might serve a purpose in growing food faster and more easily. But—what can be said about the quality or safety of these crops? And now glyphosate has been found in infant feeding tubes.
Why Glyphosate is Harmful
It’s easy to make claims that a new substance is safe for human consumption. There is very little evidence to the contrary. Unfortunately, many large profit-driven companies operate under the “act now, ask for forgiveness later” model. The truth about toxic substances like glyphosate only come out years later when the side effects can no longer be ignored.
The large companies like Monsanto have been using glyphosate since the 1970s. This herbicide use has been on the rise in modern times with the advent of genetically modified foods (GMOs). GMOs and glyphosate go hand in hand. These GMOs are very resistant to the herbicide. In other words, the crops are so resilient that a farmer can get away with using a large amount of glyphosate on the crop. This doesn’t kill it (but effectively killing any bugs, weeds, and other living things that might interfere with the crops). Some GMO crops, in particular, are the recipients of overwhelmingly high doses of glyphosate, including wheat, corn, and soy.
The very purpose of glyphosate is to kill living things.
Glyphosate kills anything that might eat or grow amongst the crops (like weeds), and yet we fail to connect the dots that we ourselves are living things. If glyphosate is killing weeds, what is it doing to us? Indeed, the science backs up simple common sense, and studies show that glyphosate is associated with a wide range of illnesses and diseases including:
- As an antibiotic, Glyphosate destroys gut bacteria (which is where 70% of the immune system is found, where the majority of hormones Tryptophan, Serotonin, and Melatonin are created) which regulate insulin/diabetes and protect from sleeplessness, depression, bipolar and violent behavior;
- Glyphosate is a powerful endocrine disruptor; which may deform or prevent the development of a fetus, causing miscarriage, birth defects, infertility, and even sterility;
- New studies find that glyphosate also feeds antibiotic-resistant bacteria; meaning that it increases the likelihood of developing drug-resistant superbugs;
- Glyphosate is a cell disintegrator; meaning that it weakens the blood/brain barrier, opening it up to higher absorptions of toxins (and skyrocketing rates of autism);
- There is a 99% correlation between autism and the increased use of glyphosate.
Glyphosate in Infant Feeding Tube Liquid Given to Sick Children in Hospitals
Mainstream medicine has its place and has done incredible feats to increase our lifespan and save lives (especially when it comes to accident-related trauma). But— it’s important to examine the reality that’s going on behind hospital doors—because it’s far from perfect. Just this month, a group called Moms Across America held a private fundraiser and raised thousands of dollars to test the contents of the liquid (namely, Pediasure). This is being fed to babies and children with cancer in hospitals, and the findings were shocking.
Without even factoring in glyphosate contamination, Pediasure Enteral Nutritional Drink is already loaded with genetically modified corn syrup, soy, and sugar, which are all known drivers of inflammation and illness. Based on listed ingredients alone, this is not the kind of healing foods required to battle disease and heal. Not only are the listen ingredients deplorable, but multiple samples came back positive for glyphosate herbicide.
Glyphosate in infant feeding tubes can destroy the infant’s precious microbes.
The Pediasure samples were tested by the independent Microbe Inotech labs. Samples which were provided by Moms Across America supporters. They tested the exact product being fed through tubes to children and babies in critical care in hospitals across the country. Microbe Inotech labs detected that 6 out of 20 (30%) tested positive for glyphosate levels above 75 ppb. These numbers are 800-1110 times higher than what has been shown to destroy gut bacteria in chickens (.1ppb). A mere 50ppT (trillion) was shown to cause liver, kidney and sex hormone changes in rats.
Glyphosate: It’s Everywhere
This nasty chemical is being used on crops, but it has infiltrated the soil, the water supply, and in doing so has spread far and wide. Having made its way into our water supply, glyphosate is now being (inadvertently) being fed to organic crops, through irrigation. One hundred percent of certified organic California wines, for example, have tested positive for glyphosate. Glyphosate is even increasingly being detected in mother’s breast milk!
Going Organic: It’s No Longer A Luxury
In the days where toxins like glyphosate were sliding under the radar, many people saw organic food as an unnecessary luxury. Unfortunately, organic food is not a luxury— it’s a necessity. As we have explored, toxins like glyphosate have even infiltrated the organic food supply, but it still remains the least impacted of widely available foods. Particular foods are highly contaminated, including wheat, corn, soy, as well as the rotating ‘dirty dozen’ fruits and vegetables; of which should absolutely without a doubt be purchased organic.
Daily Detox: A Necessity
On top of eating organic, detoxing has become another non-negotiable in the pursuit of health in modern times. We are inadvertently exposed to chemicals. They are not only in the food supply, but also the water supply, and in the air that we breathe. Our bodies are not equipped to deal with this unnatural load of toxins.
After removing the source, detox doesn’t have to be complicated. You regenerate the cell membrane safely, restoring cellular energy and reducing cellular inflammation. Next, you support your body’s own detox pathways is made simple using these four products.
- GCEL: Increases the cells natural ability to undergo this natural mechanism.
- BIND: Clings to the toxins and helps ensure they safely exit the body.
- CytoDetox: Enters the cell membrane and act as a vehicle to getting rid of toxins. You up-regulate cell function and prevent reabsorption.
- RESTORE: Is particularly useful in healing the gut’s tight junctions and reducing the impact that glyphosate has on the system.
- L-Gut: Decreases intestinal permeability.
